What is an autodialer?
An autodialer is a special machine made for the purpose of calling a large number of people simultaneously and then reciting a pre-recorded message to them. Although this device was a breakthrough in telemarketing, it didn’t come without its discomforts for consumers. Many consumers find it irritating to be called several times only to have a prerecorded message played back to you. This is why the TCPA closely monitors the use of Robocalls in telemarketing.
